The ‘at retirement’ market is in a state of flux. Retirement itself is changing. Most people are looking to work for longer for financial reasons…and because they are likely to live for longer than previous generations. Phased or flexible retirement is becoming more popular. At the same time the recent budget announcement about the abolition of compulsory annuitisation is likely to impact both the annuity market and the drawdown sector.
