It’s time to act: 2014 Budget – Advice update

As the reality of Pensions Freedom sinks in, there is an air of uncertainty around what the right client solutions should be.

This workshop will discuss the facts which now give pension investors freedom of choice, the unknown aspects surrounding the response to the consultation process and will deliver a framework which advisers can use when discussing the issues with clients.

Advisers have, for many years, considered the options available at retirement but with the possibility for clients to fully encash their pension fund from age 55, there are many risks to mitigate – but the main risks of longevity, inflation, investment and death are still present. Raising these with clients and then dealing with them within your advice process is critical to ensuring the best possible outcome for all involved.

 

During this workshop which will contribute to 75 minutes structured CPD we will:

 

• Establish the current facts surrounding Pensions Freedom
• Consider how the UK will react to the proposals and compare experience from other jurisdictions
• Explore an advice framework which will support advisers as we enter a new world of pensions advice
• Provide you with an opportunity to engage with your peers and benchmark your processes against recent FCA guidance
