The new rules on pension freedom and flexible drawdown come into force in April 2015 and will open up a new market of those who are at or in retirement, and looking at investing for income.
Severing the effective compulsion to annuitise means that investors are able to do what they like with their money when they come to retire, a prospect that opens up many options for them.
The culmination of this new legislation will see advisers showing greater appetite for funds and products that offer fair charges and consistent performance in meeting the needs of their clients.
The Retirement Freedoms Forum will address many questions advisers might have just before the new rules come into force.
What is likely to be the way forward over the next few years? Will we see a radical change in the industry? What will the impact be on clients? Are fears of injudicious spending by pensioners are warranted, and are the expected spate of new product launches are fit for purpose?
