CHARTERED FIRM GROWTH REINFORCES CULTURAL SHIFT

07 March 2014

Hot on the heels of the announcement of their 4,000th chartered individual member, the Personal Finance Society has just confirmed another record figure for corporate chartered members.

Gloucester-based Cass Stephens Life & Pensions have just become the 600th company to gain the accreditation, providing further evidence of the continuing cultural drive of advisers to deliver better consumer outcomes in the post-RDR landscape.

Director, Paul Bird, who attained personal chartered status in December 2013, said the achievement reflected the quest for ever-higher standards across the industry.

"I believe the sector has an appetite for learning right now," he asserted, "both to improve our technical knowledge and demonstrate the highest possible levels of professionalism to the general public we serve.

"There is a great deal of pride in gaining qualifications such as this, but the real benefit comes in terms of what we can offer our clients as a result and the increased confidence they have in our services.

"Regulatory pressure is not an influence in our case. Instead, this drive for higher technical competence is being driven by a mixture of pride and professionalism."

Echoing Paul's comments, Personal Finance Society chief executive officer, Keith Richards, added: "Corporate chartered financial planning firms are demonstrating a tangible culture of on-going commitment to higher technical knowledge and professionalism which reflects the overall attitude and commitment of the advice profession in general."
