Buckinghamshire scoops two top awards

20 November 2018

Buckinghamshire Building Society is celebrating after winning two awards at a prestigious award ceremony held last night. At the Mortgage Finance Gazette Awards, held at The Royal College of Physicians in London, the Society walked away with the awards for Best Local Building Society and Mortgage Product Innovation.

The Best Local Building Society Award was independently assessed by financial research company Defaqto between September 2017 and September 2018. The analysis takes into account various lending criteria including interest rates and fees. The final ranking also took into account the consistency of competitive offerings over the space of a year. Buckinghamshire was proved to be consistent in offering good, competitively priced mortgage products during the whole year.

The Mortgage Product Innovation Award was to recognise the development of a unique mortgage product to help those with complex and profound disabilities to own their own home and allow them to lead an independent life. This product was developed in partnership with specialist broker, My Safe Home.

Andrew Craddock, CEO said: “It is wonderful to be recognised for our achievements, and I am delighted that we have won both of these awards. We have an excellent team here at Buckinghamshire Building Society, and this truly is an award for all of us. I am so proud of the team’s achievements and what this means for the Society. Everyone likes to win awards, but what’s far more important is that it shows we are on the right track. It’s clearly recognition of the strengths of the brand, the whole ethos of the society and of the excellence of our staff.”

Joanne Atkin, Editor of Mortgage Finance Gazette, said “Well done to Buckinghamshire Building Society for picking up two Awards”.
