Leek United appoints new HR Director

04 July 2019

Leek United Building Society has appointed Tracey Johnson as its new Human Resources (HR) Director.

Tracey has almost 30 years’ experience in HR/personnel within the housing and financial services sectors, including senior and executive-level positions.

She joins the Society from Newcastle-under-Lyme-based social housing provider Aspire Housing Ltd., where she was Executive Director for Corporate Services/Business Transformation.

Prior to that, Tracey gained considerable and wide-ranging experience in a succession of other senior positions, which included three years as Senior HR Manager with a City of London investment bank.

Born in Crayford, Kent, Tracey, 54, began her career in the typing pool of the Inland Revenue before securing her first personnel-based position with a global firm of financial intermediaries.

Her appointment is the first executive-level HR role to be created by the Society.

Tracey said: “It’s critical to the development and strategy within any organisation for its people to have a voice around the executive table.

“There are exciting challenges ahead, and I am very much looking forward to working with Leek United’s loyal, dedicated and expert team as the Society moves forward.”

Tracey lives in Trentham, Stoke-on-Trent, and in her spare time enjoys cinema, reading, and walking her Cairn Terrier, Buddy.
